Over the years, competition within China's expanding marketplace has become increasingly fierce and some companies have found ways to lessen or cheat the competition through illegal methods. Now, in an effort to curb such behavior, China's top economic planner has announced two supplementary regulations based on the existing anti-monopoly law to take effect February 1st of this year.
The regulations specify 3 types of monopolistic behavior, including agreements on prices, interfering with competition by abusing a market-dominant position, or use of administrative power. The new rules also cover legal departments and and investigation procedures.
