Helicopter crashes in Mexico with 11 aboard

AFP - A government helicopter has crashed in eastern Mexico with 11 people aboard, including two prisoners, an official with the federal prosecutor's office have told AFP.

"It was a helicopter that was transferring two prisoners and that apparently went down due to weather conditions," said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The official indicated that there were survivors but he was unable to provide details on the fate of those aboard.

The helicopter went down in the state of Veracruz, some 250 kilometers (155 miles) east of Mexico City.
