Turkish tourist rates for Egypt rise in 2010

Turkish tourist rates for Egyptian destinations between January and September 2010 increased by 35.4 percent compared with the same period during 2009, according to Nehad Gamal Eddin, advisor to the Tourism Activation Authority's office in Turkey.

Gamal Eddin on Wednesday said the total number of Turkish tourists set to visit Egypt in 2010 is expected to reach half a million.

According to government statistics, 6.9 million tourists have visited Egypt over the past six months, compared to a total of 5.7 million during the same period in 2009.
