Mohamed ElBaradei, head of National Association for Change (NAC) and former International Atomic Energy Agency chief, said facing the sectarian strife that threatens Egypt’s stability is much better than denying it exists.
There is a desperate need to take strict precautions, wrote ElBaradei in a recent Twitter message following train shootings in Upper Egypt , adding that denial will only worsen the situation.
“We need to admit we have a problem and confront it courageously,” read the message. “Change requires a transitional period, civil society, real democracy, equality and social justice.”
