A general strike in Greece has brought thousands out onto the streets in Athens to protest against planned spending cuts.
Groups of protesters wearing hoods and covering their faces fought with police in riot gear.
Public transport came to a standstill - there were no trains running from Athens main station.
At the city's Eleftherios Venizelos airport, this man stands little chance of catching a flight.
Many of the ancient tourist sites in Athens, like Hadrian's Library, remain closed.
