US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has condemned the disclosure, saying the move by Wikileaks has hurt America's security interests. The latest leaks have sparked differing reactions around the world.
Hillary Clinton says the leak of hundreds of thousands of secret diplomatic documents, is an attack not only on the US, but also the international community.
She said, "The United States strongly condemns the illegal disclosure of classified information. It puts people's lives in danger, threatens our national security and undermines our efforts to work with other countries to solve shared problems."
Wikileaks released some 250,000 U.S. diplomatic cables on Sunday, which shed light on clandestine activities by U.S.diplomats. These include spying on the UN's leadership, and permanent Security Council representatives of France, Britain and Russia.
