Police have appealed for information after a body was found at the scene of a house fire in Nottinghamshire.
Several properties were evacuated and roads were closed during the blaze, which broke out near Newark town centre at about 3.30pm on Friday.
The victim, who was discovered inside the property in Kings Road, has not yet been identified.
A police spokesman said: "A number of nearby roads were closed and several properties were evacuated while firefighters put out the blaze.
"Fire officers and police are investigating the blaze in an effort to establish a cause."
