A photo exhibition called "World Photographers Focusing on Beijing" has opened in Dongcheng District of the capital. The works were carefully selected from more than 100,000 photos over the past 10 years. The display creates an opportunity for viewers to discover new aspects and views of the city.

This photo's name is "Erector." It was done by German photographer Palmer Frank. Palmer has been in Beijing for more than ten years. He always keeps an eye on the changes happened in the city. He said the unknown erectors have paid a great price to make Beijing a more beautiful and modern city. That's why they have become the featured player in his works.

The first world-photographer event was held in 1999. Every year, 10 photographers are invited to this event to take pictures of Beijing using their ideas and inspiration. The photographers have recorded great moments of Beijing, and have ultimately become a calling card for Beijing.

Philippe Bourgeois, a photographer from France, said that he uses his camera to tell the world of Beijing's development and cultures. During this process, he found that he loves this ancient city very much.

The exhibition also provides a chance for people to experience Beijing's diversity and grasp Beijing's development. And lastly, it gives locals a perspective of Beijing, through the eyes of foreigners.
