Chinese Premier Wen continues official visit to India

On the second day of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's three-day trip to India, he's met with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The meeting is expected to boost political trust and bilateral cooperation between the two countries. Later in the day, the premier addresses the Indian Council of World affairs. Cui Lingnan has the story.

Singh gave Wen a red-carpet welcome at the pink sandstone presidential palace in New Delhi on Thursday.

Later they held hour-long formal talks and witnessed the signing of 40 economic and trade cooperation agreements with a total value of nearly 20 billion US dollars.

Wen said this year marked the 60th anniversary of China-India diplomatic ties, and he was satisfied with the progress of bilateral relations over the years.

Later in the day, Premier Wen addressed the Indian council of World Affairs, a think tank set up by the Indian government.

He said in his speech that the two countries reached a consensus that there's enough space in the world for the development of both emerging economies.
