The Spanish government has confirmed the end of a wildcat strike by air traffic controllers which paralyzed airports for almost two days.
Spanish Deputy Prime Minister Alfredo Rubalcaba says more than ninety percent of air controllers are working and the strike can be considered as ended.
Earlier on Saturday, Spain declared its first state of emergency due to the airspace crisis.
It warned air controllers that they would face legal action if they refused to return to work. Controllers began returning to work during the afternoon and Spanish airspace was eventually reopened.
