A water-skiing Santa, complete with knee-boarding reindeer, has made a festive appearance near Washington DC.
Joining Santa on the Potomac River were Frosty the Snowman, a group of elves, and even the Grinch.
It was the water-skiing Santa's 25th annual appearance on the water.
Elsewhere in the world, locals and tourists made the most of the perfect weather in Sydney to enjoy Christmas Day on Australia's famous Bondi Beach.
Wearing reindeer antlers and dressing up in Santa outfits, beachgoers admired a decorated Christmas tree planted in the sand and enjoyed the warm sea.
Bondi Beach has become a popular destination for British backpackers on Christmas Day.
