Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has been returned to office for another term after the country's presidential election on Sunday.
The Central Election Commission said Lukashenko had a landslide victory with the support of nearly 90 percent of voters. Several exit polls have also confirmed Lukashenko's victory. He faced nine other contenders.
A candidate needed half the total votes in order to win in the first round. The Sunday presidential election has been the fourth since Belarus claimed independence in 1991. Many international observers have made positive remarks on the election.
