Ministry calls for stable internet supply during January maintenance

Alternatives should be sought to ensure the continuation of internet connection throughout January, the Ministry of Communications and the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority said. Maintenance of the main internet cable feeding Egypt will be carried out that month.

“We
need to ensure internet supply in Egypt continues as the SMWE3 cable
was cut this month and is still being fixed,” Minister of Communications
and Information Technology Tarek Kamel told Al-Masry Al-Youm. “The
SMWE4 cable is also to undergo maintenance on 14 January.”
