Why does Prince Andrew keep putting his Gucci-clad foot in his very large mouth?

Let’s not beat about the bush. Prince Andrew is boorish, cocky, opinionated and arrogant — just imagine what he would be like if he drank!

The most astonishing aspect of his outburst in Kyrgyzstan is that it was fuelled on nothing stronger than still water.

Teetotal Andrew may not be the brains of the Royal Family, but he has never been short on enjoying the sound of his own voice.

As an unfortunate result of this, the Queen’s second son has never been able to accept that his brief as our international trade envoy is to open doors using royal charm and nothing more.

Perhaps, though, his spluttering anger, reported by an American ambassador, at the ‘idiocy’ (as he put it) of the Serious Fraud Office’s six-year investigation into allegations of bribery in Britain’s multi-billion-pound al-Yamama arms deal with Saudi Arabia, is understandable.
