A large part of Europe is covered by heavy snow, causing severe problems in several countries.

Germany appears to be the hardest-hit, with more than 600 flights canceled, schools shut down, and highways clogged with traffic. There have been scores of accidents and at least three people were killed, with dozens more injured.

Poor weather is also causing travel problems across Britian, especially on the public transportation, as many flights and trains have been delayed.

Italy has been hit by snow as well. Traffic in central Rome was slowed.
