Pakistan's government is in turmoil, after a key coalition partner defected to the opposition benches. Prime Minister Yousaf Gilani is currently negotiating with opposition leaders, to avert a vote of no-confidence.

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement's announcement to leave the government has sent Pakistani politics into a spin.

Yousaf Raza Gilani, Pakistan Prime Minister, said, "You think, the government will go? The government will stay. It will stay regardless of anyone."

Foreign observers will be fearful over political instability in Pakistan given it's key involvement in fighting extremism.

And no doubt cause some sleepless nights.
